Hillary Jones, Hillary is the Director of Professional Learning at Foundations, Inc. Hillary provides training and technical assistance to school-day and out-of-school time programs. Hillary’s career began as a teacher of Spanish, ESL, language arts, and literacy, before transitioning into the afterschool space. Hillary has worked as a Day Camp Supervisor and served as an Education Manager and Senior Program Manager for The Salvation Army, where she provided support and professional development to staff on a local, regional, and national level. Hillary holds a B.A. in Spanish with a Teaching Certification from Messiah College and a M.Ed. & H.D. in Organizational Leadership and Learning from George Washington University.

Meet our Guest! Naomi Studevan
Naomi Studevan is the Founder of Advocacy Unlimited, LLC, with over two decades of experience in education and behavioral health. She holds a BA in Psychology from Clark Atlanta University and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. Actively engaged in community initiatives, she serves as Vice President of the West Park Cultural Center Board and is a member of several key committees. Naomi is committed to helping organizations and individuals achieve meaningful outcomes through expert consultancy, parent coaching, and professional development.

Danielle Liddic has over 20 years of experience in connecting youth to career development opportunities, helping them align their interests, values, and skills with their academic and professional goals. She specializes in mentoring youth, particularly in exploring nontraditional career fields by gender, such as male nurses and female engineers. Danielle holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a master's degree in education with a focus on workforce development, making her an expert in her role as Career Coach and Instructor for Professional Development at Penn State University.

Shane Weller is a received his Bachelor's Degree in English Language Arts from the University of Texas at El Paso. He started with LNESC (LULAC National Educational Services) in 2009 as a work study and was promoted to be the LNESC Center Director in Philadelphia in 2015.
Since becoming Center Director he has grown the organization from a single Upward Bound Math & Science to a bustling center that now hosts Upward Bound, Upward Bound Math & Science, Talent Search and the C2L Program.

Jaylen Jordan, who is a Miamian, traveled to Philadelphia for college and has been here ever since helping youth to explore and ignite their passions through career exposure. With plenty of experience in youth workforce development, Jaylen has recently become the director of programming at Rock to the Future. The programming at Rock to the Future is youth driven with a focus on music programs for the young people of Philadelphia. Cheryl has been with Philadelphia Academies, Inc. for over 8 years, and is responsible for overseeing all of PAI’s programs, working closely with Program Directors to prepare short/long-term strategies, identify best practices to improve systems, and supporting staff as they implement and improve programming. Her background includes being a co-founder and Executive Director of Rhawnhurst Turning Point, a small after-school non-profit in NE Philadelphia, and she holds an M.Div. from Palmer Theological Seminary, a BA in Ancient Studies from The University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and is a graduate of the Keystone Development Partnership’s Registered Apprenticeship Navigators program.

Christine Liang serves as a Program Manager in the Office of Postsecondary Readiness for the School District of Philadelphia. Coming from an accounting background, Christine’s passion for working with young people brought her to work in the postsecondary readiness space, where she has been working for the past 10 years. In her current role, she collaborates with various stakeholders to ensure that students across Philadelphia get access to college and career readiness resources and programming through network-level support and district-wide events. She also leads the StartUp EDU program, a 5-week summer entrepreneurship program through C2L-PHL that teaches students about entrepreneurship and helps them build out their own business ideas.

Carter W. Patterson is a seasoned leader in community development with extensive experience in public speaking, legislative advocacy, and coalition building. With a strong commitment to youth development, he has led initiatives like the Isles Youth Institute's job placement programs, where he provided career readiness training and created job opportunities for students and alumni. Carter has also co-founded innovative programs like Project BIKE, serving over 500 children in creative arts and bicycle recycling.
